So many people have been, are and will be important to make our idea of a one-year hiking adventure become reality. Our thanks go out to you, we will take you with us in our hearts and minds.
Our parents, Donzília and Casimiro and Regine and Uwe, gave us wings to fly and always encouraged us to follow our dreams.
Our siblings, Jorge, Jan and Swanje, are there for us whenever we need them. They are fantastic human beings!
From our extended family in Portugal and Germany, we have received a lot of encouragement to go ahead with our crazy idea. We are happy to know that many of them are following our blog and some even will join our hike!
Our friends in Zurich, Lisbon and Berlin have been extremely supportive to our plan and helped us with tips, thoughtful gifts and logistic support. We especially thank Tati and Fê for sharing their home with us during our last days in Zurich; Daniele for lending us his car or even driving us at any time of the day; Houda and Gigi for spending their precious leisure time cleaning our apartment; all of the before-mentioned for those memorable 3 hours between 6 and 9 PM, during which 6 people turned a reasonable clean apartment into a spotless place in which everything looked brand new (and gained praise in the inspection on the following day).
